I wonder if the member who installed the sway bars prevented this from happening. Also worth noting that article that you posted. Now there is a company making carbon fiber roof panels for a fortune. Lol

2013 rwd F-Sport w sunroof. No dent. Under 60,000 mi.
While stuck in traffic 2 acorns pinged off the roof right where that dent appears on the forward driver side. Hopefully its not like a weakened pop can now...

I'd suspect their assembly process left the roof stressed and once subject to shock, body flex induces this eyesore as its new stress free location as depressed dent.

I got a mystery dent near back drivers corner, rift above the rear door. I keep good tabs on my car daily for dents and saw this. Thought a branch fell on it. But now that I see these dents seems like body flex?

Body flex combined with a lack of structural metals where needed.

Unfortunately for me, my IS was recently hit on the front passenger side fender. My car was pushed against the curve and ultimately forced onto the median separating traffic. The insurance adjuster came through and made his estimate, but in the notes specifically put that the roof dent is "prior damage". I've only taken my car to Sewell Lexus and Family Toyota, and neither location had any employee mention the roof damage or document anything as such when doing the general inspection before receiving my car. So the Estimator at Sewell isn't offering any help and basically told me to deal with it on my own because it isn't his job... Is there any literature or documentation that I can provide with the insurance adjuster to show that the recent collision is the cause of the roof dent? I would appreciate any links or general advice on how I could obtain that information, I just want my car fix properly because it wasn't my fault a 90 year old, (literally, dude was turning 90 the day after the accident) though it was a good idea to drive across 3 lanes to hit my car instead of turning into the first two open lanes.

I wonder if the F Sport chassis brace helps for this? Before I installed mine it would flex all over the place. Especially going in steep driveways now the body feels very stiff. It will raise up the back end a little going up steep driveways at an angle. Sometimes the TRAC light will flash a little.

I've just bought my IS 250 2012 two weeks ago, It's US imported, i notice this dents only after i bought the car, I have dents on both sides of the roof, it really annoyed me and i thought that the car had a major accident, however when i join your fantastic club, i calmed down little-bit, although its not obvious, but since i notice it every time im riding my car i'm looking to it

The Lexus is still a better car than the Infini in my opinion. My den is very slight and I hardly notice it.

I found no dents other than the ones the previous owner put in it on the rear passenger side door and rear bumper.

Can someone confirm if the F-Sport chassis brace is the part that will theoretically help the most? As preventative maintenance, is it also recommended to get the other F-Sport front and rear sway bars? Does anyone think the Cusco power brace will help?

Has anyone heard of someone with an F-sport getting these dents?

Thanks all!

Mike_1Go and Rrotz, do you both have the F-Sport package? If not, did you put any modifications on the car? Thanks!
