Default Black Roof Vinyl Recommendations

Yo all members! I'm planning to get my Starfire Pearl Roof wrapped with either satin/matte black or glossy black vinyl next week with Lyle at Vinyl Styles. Heard he does a real good job. Only thing holding me back from getting gloss black is that it scratches really really easily and that it even comes with scratches during the install! Let me know what you guys think If you have pictures of vinyl roofs on your car, please post. Thanks!

Glossy black. LTBMW in EL Monte. These guys can do this in their sleep. They serve the BMW community usually, but I'm told they've done quite a few IS's.

3M di-noc carbon fiber, been over a year and still look the same from day one. I use 303 vinyl cleaner to keep it clean and glossy every other week. If you want gloss black just get it painted instead. Only cost a between $300 to $500 from a reputable body shop. Lyle wrap gloss black vinly for a little under $400. Not that much of a difference anyway.

how is that vinyl cleaner? isn't water and soap and a sponge good enough?

303 work best with vinyl. It have SPF, protect from the sun when it gets too hot. Water and soap not good enough, you will hear that a lot from shops that install vinyl. 3M carbon fiber looks too dry to me so I also use it to give it a bit of a gloss instead of armor all.

I heard bad things about the gloss black since it turns dull quick. I think between the washing and weather, the gloss finish scratches and gets dull. If anything go with the matte finish or CF di-noc.

HIDness....the di-noc wrap looks sick! I thought about wrapping my roof at one point but never considered di-noc. Seeing the picture, I may reconsider it.

If you're going glossy black and plan to keep it that way, I'd just get it painted. I had my roof initially wrapped in glossy black vinyl but the slight pattern still gave it matte look (see 2nd picture below) and vinyl scratched easily. Either painted glossy black or matte wrap.
