Smile Automatic start 2010 IS 250 AWD

Just wondering if it is possible and worth the investment to get a auto start for my lexus. Is it possible because of the push start button?

if you do a search you will find it is very possible, although alot of places install it very poorly. Mine is great, when i get in the car, i have 30 seconds to hit the brake pedal and then I can drive off. Some folks have a poor install, they hit the pedal and the car dies and they have to restart it, the installers have told them that is the way it is, but that is not true.

you cannot however go to best buy, our cars are complicated. Find a good reputable alarm place and you will be fine.

is it worth it? only you can answer that one!

+1 on that. I had my remote start on my 12 IS350 done through the dealer. I did it that way because it was part of the sales contract, it was "almost" free and I got a Lexus loaner. The company that did the work, while a bunch of nice guys, was clueless. The first time it was installed they took out my entire left channel on my audio system. The dealership gave me the loaner right back.

Then I realized that when my lights are set to auto and it is light outside the remote start would not give a visual cue (a flash of the parking lights). So I took it back and upgraded to the fob that plays a tune and flashes because they could not address the "problem".

The car does remote start but it will stop when I open the door. I can only open the door with the remote start fob after a remote start even if it is no longer running!

I also don't leave my lights on auto because if it is dark outside and the remote start times out the lights do not go off.

I hooked up with a Viper dealer this weekend and he had a good laugh and said that all of my issues are addressable. I'm tempted.

One thing is you can no longer use the OEM fob for anything, you must use the remote on the alarm to lock, unlock doors. Viper is the way to go! i love mine, going ot get the iphone module and app when I get an iphone in a few months!

Can you use your smart key if you do not remote start your car? Or is it that you have to arm/disarm a Viper alarm?

Let me caveat this--I have a Viper that was installed very very well. I don't arm the alarm most days and yes, I just use my FOB like normal--knowing the viper alarm is wasted. When I remote start it, that is the only time i have to take the viper fob out to unlock the car doors and then get in.
