I have an '06 and it has a shark fin on roof. So double check that.
I heard an '06 is the fastest year from '06-'15 IS350s.. someone can correct me if I'm wrong on that.
Do you have satellite radio (you shouldn't)?
Either way it's probably after market and most likely just a dummy. The shark fin is the satellite radio antenna.
I would say a 2010. I had a 2008. The steering was really harsh...I almost wish they had not changed it from 2006/07. 2010 also has the tech upgrades and still reminds me of the 2006-2009 version.

Some people added the satellite radio afterwards. Some people just stuck on a shark fin because they liked it if I recall right (its been like 7 years).
Again, which years were exempt from the roof dent? I am looking at the 2006-2013...can't stand the new model, not nearly as "classic" as the 2IS or IS300.

I wouldn't let something so minor affect your decision on buying a car.
Seems like a major structural component of the car...I suppose I haven't seen good examples of the dents yet (since the majority of photos in the threads are no longer hosted). Either way, it is concerning, and if there are years that are more reinforced, why not just ask?
Don't forget to mention that Lexus discontinued some rare exterior colors in the older year model. Like my 07 Glacier Frost Mica. And some other rare color.
I didn't think that the 2006 model differed at all in terms of acceleration and/or performance compared to the models within the same generation. Pretty sure the 2006-2013 model years are all just as quick as one another. The big change was the 2014, which lost a half a second to 60mph. To be honest, in addition to the 2IS looking better, the better performance it has makes the 3IS (2014+ model) look like a slouch...seriously, the Accord V6 Coupe is just as fast, and with the EX-L package, the Accord is much more competitive. The 2IS is just so damn good all the way around that it looks like Toyota couldn't even keep up with itself...then again, maybe they wanted to distance the IS-F from the IS350 in the 3IS...either way, it seems that Toyota made another modern classic with the 2IS 350, hopefully they can do it again in the 4IS.
