Dood. A convertible? Really? As a daily driver? I just don't get it. What happens if it rains? What happens if you want to drive more than 5-10 miles? Convertibles are heavier, bulkier, uglier, and handle worse. I can understand maybe if you want to go for a regular BMW. But a convertible? I just don't understand.

You'll get much more for your car by removing the mods and selling it closer to stock. If possible, I'd strip the car down as much as you can (particularly hugely glaring things like that hood) and sell the car that way. Then sell the mods separately on CL to pay for the future repair costs on your BMW. There's a reason it's being dumped 6,000 miles before the warranty's up..

All the mods like the hood and color might make it harder to sell your car or lose some value. If anything, do put it back to stock and sell the aftermarket stuff. If I were in your situation, I wouldn't mind trading an IS250 for a 328i convertible. I've always wanted a 3-Series from the start but ended up with an IS350. I do need an AWD car for winter driving and the '06+ 325/328xi's in my area start at just $9K now. But $28K for that thing is too much. I bought my '07 IS350 with 49,xxx miles for $20,300 so that trade in value for you is about right.
Look for cheaper 3-Series. A 328i with 40K miles for $28K is too much. You can get a 335i convertible where I live for that price.

You can definitely find a better deal than that. i've seen 335i convertibles for cheaper than that with warranty around here. The only reason i wouldn't buy a BMW is because of reliability issues they seem to be suffering. You may be ok with the 328i, but the 335i for example has major HPFP issues that are not cheap repairs outside of warranty. If you do go with a 328i, get a good warranty that will last you at least through however long you plan to keep the car - especially if you decide to go for a 335i instead.
