Default Info on Wald replica front lip

Hi guys, I just want to know if anyone here have bought and installed a Wald front lip replica on his IS on e-bay or anywhere else.
I want to know if they have a good fitting or not. I would like to know if there's really a difference between the original one and a replica.

thanks

None of the reps will give you an exact oem fitment, most regardless if they are from eBay or not will need to be trimmed and worked to fit to look OEM. I recommend finding the cheapest one because the largest cost of the project is going to be paint and fit anyway. Good luck!

No problem, I've heard even the authentic don't line up exactly... That being said while I support authentic parts (rear lip is authentic) I don't think they belong on the front end, no sense paying a grand for a piece of fiberglass, another couple hundred in paint, than scratch it (and you will no matter how hard you try) and freak out because you $1500 dollar front lip has flaws... Just my .02. That being said I really think the Wald rep or authentic is the best looking, least bulky front lip out there, good luck !

My authentic Wald fits like a glove, don't know what you're referring to having to trim and work lips, even authentic. Mines holding itself on to the car, no tape, screws or anything. That snug of a fit from Wald go authentic!

Yes, the replica one will never fit exactly out of the box, you'll have gaps here and there and need a good body shop do some grinding, stretching and what not, I know because I have one myself. It will far outweigh as far as price since it costs only 1/10 of the original one, and being where it is on the car, no matter how careful we try to be, sooner or later we'll screw it up somehow, scratch it badly or even break it. And at that time it will be really painful to your pocket if it was a real thing unless you've got a deep one and don't care about it.

Yeah I know I will scratch it. Before my Lexus I have drived a Mazda Protegé with a front lip and a 2" drop. Scratched it many many time.

Have had a couple friends on other models have trouble with JDM authentic fitting, never as much as a rep, but still fiberglass can deform... Authentic FTW, except on the front lip IMO. To all those who have Wald authentic front lips props for throwing down the $$$ I can't imagine what the feeling is when you see a chip or scratch on it.
