Found a 2009 Lexus IS250 AWD with 43,778 miles on it going for $25,997.
Here are more details on the car.
White exterior/ecru interior
ML audio system with Nav
Luxury plus package
Premium package.

Just spoke to the dealer and he is willing to come down to $24,500 for the car. The car has a squeaky clean carfax report and all the required maintenance has been done till date.

Should I pull the trigger or is the 40k plus miles something to be worried about. Thanks a lot.

Seems like a really good deal to me. If the dealer is reputable, I would pull the trigger on it. I don't think you'd ever regret it at that price.

Those were just a few I grabbed from a quick search. There may of course be differences in packages listed, but overall I think it's clear there's a very high likelihood of finding a similar car at the same or lower price that's CPO, which adds $1000-2000 to the price of a car generally. The CPO warranty can be hugely valuable on a car that's just out of or about to go out of warranty, like the one you're looking at.

If I were you, I'd hold out for a car that's CPO at that price. Or, if you like that car a lot, go for it, but negotiate them down further by showing them comps pulled from Cars.com and Autotrader for CPO cars at that price.

doesnt seem to fantastic. i was looking CPO, but found a new (leftover) white on white 2010 is250 for 360/mo, nothing down.

I think its a good deal when u put the ML into consideration bc its VERY hard to come by. I looked for a SFP CPO with ML for 3 months no luck and i pulled the trigger on my CPO SFP 45k miles for $25800

Btw 40k is nothin still pretty new imo. There's guys on here wanting 100k+ and I'm like what are u thinking?

I bought min for 28k with 37k milage with nav... it was an 09 as well. But I bought my car in a hurry within 2 days. So yeah this seems like a good deal to me

It's pretty clear from the above Autotrader search that there are lots of cars out there that have lower miles for a lower price and quite a few that are CPO. However, the options may not match this car exactly. This particular car appears to be fairly highly optioned, and when you use comps to negotiate the purchase price down with your dealer, he'll likely use the options to explain why they're not comparable.

This is where you'll have to weigh the relative importance to you of the different aspects of the car. Not only the options it has, but also things like color, wheels, and whether it's CPO or not. Some aspects will be more important to you and others you won't care about.

Put bluntly, I do not think the simple fact that this car has ML makes it a good deal. The comps above show you can get a 2009 IS250 AWD with almost the same options at even lower mileage for the same or slightly lower price AND Certified. I have to believe that for 90% of buyers, a CPO warranty is more valuable than having the ML option.

So keep this in mind as you're searching. I would have liked to have gotten a car with ML, however a car came along with all the aspects I cared most about (black, tan interior, luxury package, low miles, CPO) at the right price, so I chose that. Is having ML worth forgoing lower miles and a Certified warranty?

Those cars you pulled are not really comp's to what I have. the cheaper ones up there have no nav, and if they do, its just basic, no luxury pkg or ML system

Yeah you do have a point. However there are barely any SFP's, with ecru interior, nav and the options I desperately wanted. I've been searching for 3-4 months now and I had only found 5, and they were all sold before I could close the sale for about the same price. From what I've heard around CL, these cars are really reliable and I have the carfax, inspection report, service history, and records both from the dealer and the lexus owners website. Only reason the car wasnt CPO certified was because it's in a MB dealership, and apparently only Lexus dealerships can give the CPO certification.

I managed to get the dealer down to $24000 and apparently thats the best he can do. I doubt I'll find a better deal than this anytime soon.

Also the car is basically coming with 4 brand new tires, new rear brake pads, and new wiper blades.

On a used IS,I'd pay an extra thousand or so for ML.
ML sounds great in a IS.
