All, I am a new IS250AWD owner. Love the car, had it 2 months now. I upgraded from a 2008 Mazda 3 GT.

2 Things bug me about the car, minor things but they still bug me. My Mazda had both...

1) No rain sensing wipers - even though the salesman told me it had them, I didn't do my homework and realized 3 weeks after purchase that my model (leather, sunroof, automatic) did not have this feature...oh well...too late now and not the end of the world.

2) The second is the HID/Xenon lights - Mazda 3 had these and they made a real difference at night. I have been researching the different options available and it seems like I could install these for a couple of hundred bucks.

Can anyone offer any advice as to which kits are the best and work well....I am fairly technically able and I am sure the install would not be an issue for me but any advice would be great.

1. Rain sensing wipers are only part of the Luxury package, along with other stuff you can only get with the lux pack, like rear sun shade, illuminated door scuffs, heated and reverse tilt mirrors, memory seats.

Leather, and sunroof is standard on ALL ISx50s.

2. There are numerous threads on this. Do a forum search.

Actually no, the rain sensing wipers also came with the Sport Package in the US (available from 06-10)... as did nearly every other item in the luxury package (plus some Lux doesn't include)... however, the OP is in Canada (at least I assume QC is quebec city) so neither leather nor sunroof were standard, and overall the cars are optioned rather differently from the US.

To the OP- yes, a search should turn up a slew of threads on adding aftermarket HIDs- don't go super cheap though as some folks have had pretty scary issues with their steering from cheap HID kits with no EMI shielding screwing with their steering ECU.
