It looks good in commercial but when I started to look more closely I think the front end is ugly from certain angle. It reminds me of ugly TL. And the back doesn't match the aggressive front end. The back looks like ugly Camry cousin.

From the video I'm not a fan. Maybe some up-close and personal time will change my mind but right now I'm really glad I got a 2IS.

What comes to mind is that this is Lexus' answer to the Acura "beak". A previous poster referenced
the "Predator" face. That's about what I see too.

Just sayin'.

I really don't know what I would want the 3IS to look like but now I know what I don't want it to look like. Again, maybe I just need more exposure to it but my initial impression .

I'd like to see it out of the shadows and in living color. Perhaps there is a hint of Skyline fascia there (a good thing IMO) but are my eyes playing tricks on me or is it the lighting in this pic?

So, I checked out other images here.

And I went here to see it in different colors.

It is more aggressive and as a TP IS350 owner I like the Liquid Platinum color as shown above. It does grow on you but what I really like are the grill accents by the fogs.

So, now that I've taken the time to look at it I do like it as an improvement for the GS but I'm not convinced it will be an improvement over the 2012 IS. If anything I think it moves the (much larger) GS closer to the aggressive stance that the (much smaller) IS already has.

I hate to be on-the-fence about this but I'm having a hard time visualizing this as an improvement for the 2012 IS. Maybe other model year IS owners won't have this problem.

I do not like it. The more I see it the less I hate it, but I still don't like it. This reminds me of when Acura ruined the TL and the TSX (IMO) about five years ago, when they went with the ridiculously aggressive and large front ends and grills. Those have now evolved to the point that they look like a huge mouth coming at you. I wouldn't mind a subtle change, but certainly wouldn't want to see the new GS front on a new IS. I think it is just too much.

I'm not sure if it's as bad as the Acura redesign, but I don't think the new GS front a better design than the current IS.

The Acura with the bird beak like look is pretty ugly.

The spindle grille looks great on the new cars from what I've seen (GS, LX). I am curious as to how Lexus will implement it on the sportier IS. BMW and Mercedes are making their cars all too similar in looks and styling, which I've heard many negatives about. I would hope Lexus does not style the new IS after the GS but further enhance the sport look from the first to second generation of the IS.
