Lexus Is250 Loose breaks
Guys, I bought my 250AWD during June 09 and i have been noticing my breaks aren't as tight as they once were and it takes a significant amount of force to stop on a dime. My car barely has 18K miles. I am not too familiar with the brake system on this car, but someone told me(shop) that i need to get my brake fluid changed and it would cost 225? reasonable? or are they clueless?
Also, i have heard there was a recall on these breaks? is that true?
Thanks in advance!

its brakes, not breaks.
You change your brake fluids every 30k, and it should cost around $100 at an independent shop.
There is no such recall on the brakes; instead you could switch out the pads for different pads that make less dust. However, base on reviews by forum members, the less dust pads seem to get worst braking, therefore doing this would probably be non-beneficial for you.

I am not sure why brakes was spelled wrong, it must be my spell check lol
Oh wow. what do you think i should do. could there be any buildup?
I don't drive this car a lot and if so i usually drive it on the highway and not in the city

They can of course stop the car in exactly the same braking distance as the original pads, since changing your pads doesn't change your braking distance.
Anyway, yes, assuming the OPs pads aren't entirely gone by now he can get a free set of the TSIB pads under warranty by telling the dealer he's experiencing excessive front brake dust.
As to the brake fluid, manual says change every 30k or 2 years... with this one I usually recommend time over miles, as brake fluid will absorb water just sitting there over time.... and yes this shouldn't cost more than $100-125, even at a dealer.
One other thought- How are your tires? Your tires are what ultimately determine the minimum distance the vehicle stops in, not the brakes.
