I never want to go back from my Smart Card. If I have my wallet, I have my key!

That looks interesting, but I wouldn't pay $35 + shipping for it lol.

I think the regular Lexus covers are pretty nice:

I want the smart key card!

B16A2NR,

No need for buttons... my key never leaves my pocket anyway. Doors/trunk/ignition are all keyless/buttonless

Looks cool. Now that I think of it, you'll always have your house keys with you so what's the point of the Smart Card?

I actually have this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI...#ht_500wt_1413

My original case wore out. I've had mine for over a year and I like it a lot. I dropped it, and broke the screw post and the vendor replaced it. $12.50 with free shipping is certainly reasonable. The case is shipped from China so it takes a bit of time to get here, but a tracking number is supplied and it is trackable thru the USPS.

The smart card key fits right in your wallet and is the thickness of about 2 credit cards. There is still a metal key inserted into it, so you have the ability to get in the car if the battery goes dead. This key is a regular feature for some of thew higher end Lexus models. I got mine FREE because when I bought the car new last December, my salesman said it was not an option. I read the forums here and sent him a link to the Sewell page and he apologized with the unit for free.

True - you cannot unlock the doors before you get to them, but why would you anyway? Hitting the clicker is so yesterday!

Here is my favorite part - ever been to the store and realize you left your wallet at home? This could not happen to me because without my wallet the car would not start :-)

Now, if only I could remember to bring my phone...

Keep in mind not all IS' work with the Smart Key's metal key. I believe it was either 08 or 09 that they charged the key design slightly for all models to accommodate the smart key's metal key. But the wallet key still works though. But should that battery die on you, you'd be out of luck.
