I've read similar articles on this topic and news on TV; Lexus / Toyota top ranked on consumer reliability, etc.

However, a lot of my friends favor European cars because they all say they are more impact resistant, Especially German cars. My friend has a VW and got into an accident with an Acura, the Acura rear bumper was all messed up whereas my friend's VW front bumper was intact.

Can someone comment on this? I've always been curious

I'm not surprised to see Cadillac in that list. Their car's really are getting better. How the hell did Porsche get in that list though ?

Porsche has had a great track record for years, they've shown up as number one on some reliability/initial quality lists even.
