I may be in the minority here but I wouldn't buy any luxury vehicle with 90K miles.

I would, especially a lexus known for reliability, it's not the mileage you should be worried about here. The fact that its only a 2008 is the bigger concern. Had it been a 2006 it would be been atleast acceptable..

IMO to the OP. If the vehicle has an immaculate service history with all things done I wouldnt worry about it too much, but definitely do your research.

basically. as long as it's been serivced, it should be fine. I've been in the process of selling mine, I've got 103k on mine and it's baffling how many people think it will break down just because it's over 100k

desco5,

Go here, register with the site, and enter the VIN of the car. You will be able to see the service history for the life of the vehicle. If you can see that the car was well-maintained I'd say go for it.

I bought an 06 IS250 AWD back in Jan of 2011 with 89k at the time and now im at 133K 13 months later lol

driving fine!
only repairs done were LF Wheel hub ( i drive like Dale #3)

I'd say check for flaws in the suspension and a/c

and if you dont mind me asking how much are you paying under book value?

It is a Lexus and it will be fine. I had 150k on my last ISxxx and it was running like a champ.

90k is nothing, just follow the scheduled maint. if you don't have the history of the car, replace oil, plugs and belt, and inspect breaks. that's it.

the final sale price is 19,000.. thats the total after taxes and license fees.. they gave me the CarFax and everything seems legit. The reason for so many miles is that the previous owner was a company owned car. maybe a rental or transportation for employee..

^I don't know about that car in particular after you said it was a "fleet vehicle". If the vehicle was someone's personal vehicle, that would be different. But fleet vehicle miles are "harsh" miles...as in, drive it like you stole it miles. LOL! At least, that's what I do when I get a rental car. I want my what my monies worth, so I'm gonna give it a whoop'n.

I'd pass personally.

Wow, $19k for a 90k mile car? That's too much in my opinion.

I normally wouldn't say to just immediately pass on the car because of the mileage, but that mileage justifies a lower price than $19k. You're out of absolutely all warranties, so all issues are out of pocket for you. And fleet/rental/corporate is never a good thing to see on a Carfax.

In any case, start here with your search: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...is-models.html

Back in summer i bought 2006 IS350 with 113k miles for 14k including taxes and plates.
As long as the car been maintained and its in good condition i don't see why not. Just do your research.

I wouldn’t worry so much about the miles, if the car is well maintain and gets the regular service you should be good.
I wouldn’t pay $19,000 for car with 90,000 miles.
