When I first read the word "scam" in the title post the first thing that came to mind is "Jiffy Lube's expose" several years ago, LOL.
I think the service advisor based these recommendations from your actual mileage and service log interval. I highly doubt it if a technician actually took a peek of the actual brand new filter.
Props to you for doing the maintenance yourself.

I'd be very pissed too.
Telling the service advisor you changed those filters should have stopped a new filter purchase.5 days old,a tech has to see they're new filters and shouldn't have installed new filters.Got to wonder what else the dealer service does to rip people off.
No excuses. They tried ripping you off.I'd have a talk with the service manager.
What was the dealer service cost of replacing both filters?Got to be over $100.

Although what they did was not within general ethical standards, you may have had a young tech who obviously was making the assumption based on mileage. I would suggest you had talked with the service manager rather than posting the dealer information online for everyone to see. More likely than not they would have done something to not only make sure the tech understands to properly check items prior to suggesting service, but also do something to make sure you left the dealership happy. Management should understand the value of your long standing loyalty to them in comparison to the sale of a couple filters.
