Not sure how fast he can do it cause he also painted my calipers. It probably would take him like an hr or so. Maybe faster. There's no fix for the afs YET. He just put a black tape over it LOL

for most of you scared of installation I suggest you try it yourself. Other than time consuming this is not a hard task at all.
look up the video on how to remove the bumper and you got half the battle won

Could not agree more with you. Someone was kind enough to post the videos in this forum and I was able to use them to install. I don't even know how to change my oil, yet was able to get this done.

I hate to sound stupid, but how do you know if you have AFS? I read the manual and it looks like I have the Halogen. If I dont have AFS I will get the the new LEDs if I do I dont think I would like that flashing light while im driving. Makes me feel like somethings wrong with my new baby!

So i will repose this question since i read all 17 pages and no one seems to take a direct approach in answering the question.
IF YOU GET THE STRIPPED VERSION WHY WOULDN'T YOU BE ABLE TO RUN AN AFTERMARKET HID KIT?
Does the bulb not fit?
Sewell saying they are unfamiliar with aftermarket products is a general statement to avoid any liability issues for false information given. rather than assuming that your kit would fit they just say they dont know because if just one hid kit does not fit then they would be liable.
Someone said it "doesn't work very well with aftermarket hid" how so?
There is no reason to push someone to spend another 500 on the loaded set just for the oem kit when a perfectly fine aftermarket kit is no more that $100 dollars if you dont have one by now.

Not saying that aftermarkets kit work for sure just dont see why they wouldn't and as i am in the same situation as those with Halogen lights its a question that i need an answer to as well. Maybe someone who purchased the lights can chime in and verify.

No your aftermarket HID kit will NOT work with these lights. They take different bulbs, and there is a huge hole in the bottom of the headlight where the factory ballast bolts in and seals the headlight housing. If you even tried to use an aftermarket HID setup, you'd have a huge hole in your headlight. Even if you made a cover or something for the hole, you'd still have the issue of the bulb not fitting, or anywhere to plug the aftermarket ballast into easily. It's just not the way to do it.
If you really want to save the money, buy some used and/or take-off ballasts from eBay ($100-160) and some aftermarket D4S bulbs ($60-200 depending on brand and type). It's less than $500.
Aftermarket HID kits are meant to convert halogen lights to HID, not work in actual HID headlights.
