Autophiliac flames F-sport

Lexus already leads in luxury, reliability, intuitiveness, (ergonomics, fuel economy, engineering and technology seem too subjective to apply to any one manufacturer), why not go after sport. BMW has held the sport crown long enough that they lost sight of any luxury aspect. Fast forward to present and the new 5-Series gained 400lbs compared to the outgoing E60 model. The 2013 GS gained 38lbs compared to the 2011 model. BMW is going the Lexus route and vice versa. If the trend continues both will strike a common balance within the next few years
Lexus has the LFA, where is BMW's supercar?

+1 nothing wrong with Lexus going after sport, as long as it knows which aspect to focus on for which model/trim. Just because Lexus is luxury traditionally doesn't mean it can't expand. Porsche is traditionally 2-seater sports car, well look at them now with the success of Cayenne and Panamera.
The Cayenne is one of their best if not their best volume sellers. Gives them that extra scratch to make insane cars like the Carerra GT and upcoming 918 Spyder
