worth it to mod my car?
I have an 06 lexus is350 with 72k miles on it. Was considering putting some coil overs, exhaust, etc. Is it worth the money? or did i wait too long? Just trying to justify whether or not i should put in all the money. I dont know the ins and outs of modding cars but im assuming the price is still gonna be relatively high. any thoughts? If there is a thread for this already I apologize! Thanks!

Did you recently get the car?
If you had it for some years, why start now?
If you are not into it, don't start.
Once you start, you will not stop and when you add up the bills, you will ralize you have spent thousands.
If you are planing on selling it sometime in the future, don't mod. You won't get your investments back
If you are planing on trading your car, wait and start fresh on a newer model.
.
Gook luck in any decison you take

Save your money for the next gen. In my opinion it's a waste of money to spend thousands of dollars on mod and just to find out it only decrease your car value. Even if you part out, you still going to get less than 50% of what you already spent.

Why wouldn't it be worth it? I don't do it to increase the value of the car. this is the wrong reason to do it. I do it so that I enjoy the car more...to have something that I'm proud of, that I created...to have something that I like to look at...and maybe learn something along the way.
I have a 06 with 76,000 miles on it and I'm not nearly done with it yet.

i bought it in 06, and always wanted to but then issues with the warranty came up and me just being indecisive took its toll. I thought about selling but just wasnt sure how much i would get/wouldnt know what i could get or should get next. The main mods i would do would just be exhaust, coil overs, headers, rims (if you call that a mod), maybe a few minor things but i dont think i would spend 30k, but who knows like some people have said once you start modding its hard to stop haha. Thanks

This is my third car I'll be modding from complete stock... Yes you will end up spending thousands, and spend a lot of time on it, but do you really want to drive the same exact thing as the guy at the light next to you? I mod to make the car mine, to make it different then everyone else's. If your already questioning whether you should mod or not, I think you already know the answer... Yes !

There is a certain satisfaction you get from modding your car and making it your own. Do it tastefully, keep the mods clean and simple, and you should be happy with the result (regardless of the miles on your car). I have 71K on my 06 IS350 and I'll finish up modding it this year (fingers crossed). Not once did I consider the mileage on the car as a determining factor for continuing to mod. I love my IS and I plan to drive it into the ground. So go for it!
