Default Thinking of upgrading sounds!

Hey guys, I was thinking of getting a Sub woofer for my trunk. I really don't know much about it. The least I know is that I need a AMP, the sub itself, box, and the wires. I could need some assistance on what brands are fairly good out there. I was thinking of getting maybe a 12 inch. I don't want to go too loud, but just want that extra bass.

Hope you guys can fill me in on what products you recommend.

Thanks CL

I have a 12 inch Alpine Type R sub that hits pretty good but I want more bass lol. I think a JL W7 would do nicely

I know about as much as you do. The only brand I really want and I'm pretty sure is good is JL audio. I'm not sure about which specific subs are good, but if bob4256 says a JL W7 is nice, it must be lol

If you do go for a dual sub setup check out what this guy is selling on ebay, I got an enclosure from him before and he even custom cut for square subs, whatever you want he will do and a pretty good price too.

Well Im no audio expert, but Ive seen a few youtube videos of people shattering their windshields from 2 W7s so I figure 1 should be more than enough lol

Can't really go wrong with anything by JL Audio. Their subs are awesome

1 JL Audio 12w7 is more than enough.

Go to any authorized local JL retailer and they should be able to do you up right. Expect to drop a minimum of $1k though if you are having someone else do it. Another way around the cost factor is buying all of the components you want on eBay, and then take it all to an installer to do their thing.

Cannot go wrong with JL!

The only issue with buying items on eBay is you don't get factory warranty.

If you want the bass to kick at the higher note then I say go with a KICKER.. But if you want more of the lower bass then the JL audio will do.

Get this box: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...x-is-back.html

Throw in a 12w6v2 sub and 500/1v2 amp. Done.
