Also interested in this for an 06! A cheaper alternative for the FA would be awesome.

Hi,
So got the 09-11 center vents delivered and installed them.
The gap is gone and fitment is as expected - just like stock.
The only thing to note is this. The oe 07-09 vents have two connectors for lighting up the flap dials. The 09- have one connector. The connectors need to slightly be modified. By clipping off some plastic. You will see what I mean and its a w minute modification.

Now I am happy with the setup. Pics later on.

I finally pulled the trigger and purchased one, just waiting on shipment to get here. Any idea if Road Rover updates or offers firmware or anything for these nav systems?

Default Follow Up

Any follow up info you can provide about this unit since you've had a few months with it now? Any support or reliability issues? Have you received any firmware updates that address the quirks you noted earlier? Is it worth the investment?

The unit still works.
as for some of the issues noted above.

Radio - Bad
Intermittently the channels will switch their assigned slots after car if started maybe once every 2 - 3 days. manageable? yes annoying? yes

Update - once all slots were populated with a radio channel this stopped happening.

Ipod - Bad
Sometimes I will only get sound in the front right speaker.

update: changed cable all is good.

CD playback - Bad
Sometimes when selecting CD playback it will default to aux. This also means if your listening to a CD with the navigation on , after navigation gives directions it will revert back to AUX instead of CD.

Once I disconnected the aux cable from the aux port - this doesnt happen anymore so while not perfect its not an issue.

Hi Johnchi

How did you manage to fit the new style airvents? I have just tried to fit them along with this unit (good writeup thankyou) and they do not want to fit on the bottom. They just stick out!!

Thanks

I appreciate that and I have read through the post. I noted the change in the wiring but that is not my problem. Its getting the vents to fit within the dash properly. Johnchi may be able to help!!
