Although he said clips and tongs, he actually trimmed the vent outlets. I trimmed about 15mm off, it fits on the nav, but there is a fairly big gap at the top (see attached picture). Trimming more might help a little bit, but I got out a tape measure, and the way this is fitting now after trimming them is that the vents no longer fit inside the air vents from the dash (i.e. air is probably leaking out of it).

I think the reason it fits after trimming is that the new vents no longer go inside the dash air outlets (if someone had their nav taken out can check, I was too lazy to take it out again). Although he mentioned the '09 vents are bigger, they're actually smaller than the '08. The reason for not fitting is that the 06-08 goes in at a slightly vertical angle while the '09 nav forces it a more horizontal angle. After poking around I think it might had been easier to fit the original '08 vents by trimming the clips off the top of the nav, though that would probably stick out because of the shape :/

Does anyone know where I can buy the 09 AC vents? I have checked sewell, but including shipping to Canada they come down to $250... Any suggestions from the guys who replaced theirs already?

Try a local junk yard.

Use a paint can key to pull the vent out (free at home depot or lowes, flat hook one end, bottle opener on the other). Hook it into the small top slots where you release the clips that you push down with a screwdriver and pull. Works perfect, never touch the soft dash. Then use it to open a beer and celebrate. It's like it was made for it.
