Default Body kit suggestions

Hi all

i've read quite a few threads on kits and fitments, etc, but still couldn't get my questions answered

i'm now thinking about getting a full body kit, haven't decided on style yet. But i was wondering if all of the body kit styles for the 2IS are direct add-ons onto our oem bumper, sides, etc? If so, do they all require taping and drilling, regardless replica or authentic?

If they all require taping and drilling, when you want to go back to stock and take the kits off, will there be noticeable damage done to your car due to all the tapes and drilling?

thanks in advance for your inputs

Mostly all are a lip kit added onto your stock bumpers. The only one off the top of my head is the Artisan Spirits is a full bumper replacement. I would think there would be some scratching on the bumper when removed along with drilling on the sides of front and rear and I believe the side skirts as well. Sometimes shops use epoxy also to make sure it stays on. Hope that helps.

yep, it does. Thanks for contributing

so . . when people with kits go back to stock, in general what do they typically do to get those fixed? a new paint job?

^ That's a good question lol. Sadly, I can't answer that though. But yeah, most front lips, sideskirts, and rear lips are add-ons. Usually held on by screws on the wheel wells and tape or glue on the rest. Only front lips I can think of that are direct replacements for the stock are the Fabulous and SE Tuned. Those just use the bolts that held the stock lip.

body kits are for old school civics (no offense to civic drivers).. the majority of people here have lip kits (i.e. GFX, Fsport, Wald, Vertex, etc etc.)
i personally think lip kits looks cleaner and still keeps the car's original curves

How do you have 700+ and not already know this haha.

Lip kit = you add it on your existing bumper.

Body kit = replacing whole bumper.

Sideskirts are usually replaced whether it being lip/body kit.
