Since theres some confusion on what im doin to the car, plus i havent really explained it much. Im going to semi gloss clear the whole car, everything going green, except the roof. The roof is already paint gloss black and is staying gloss black. Ive got the GFX sides and rear im also putting on. Im painting all the chrome trim gloss black as well. Plus im also getting a carbon fiber roof spoiler, CF oem looking trunk spoiler, and a CF fabulous replica front lip(vis). Once all the carbon fiber parts get here, ill be clear coating them all to keep the AZ sun from messing em up. Re-smoking the headlights as well is on the "to do" list since i have a few giant rock chips in em, which caused the material to lift around the chips giving it a bubbled look.
I know it doesnt look semi gloss but its still wet in these pics. I got it painted last night so ill get more pics up in a few days after it gets more put together so you guys can see how it looks.
What semi gloss clear are going to use? Sometimes with ours it seems like the gloss level can be a little hit or miss. The thought of doing a whole paint job with it would scare the hell out of me, not to mention possibly having to respray a panel on it at a later date. Looking forward to more pics.
I know what you mean about it being hit or miss. Im using Spies Hecker 8070, semi gloss clear. I made several spray outs adding more matting agent to each one but they were all tooo flat and milked out my color too much. I semi gloss cleared my whole hood before i started this process to see how it looked and i really liked it. It also seems to flatten out more after being baked in the booth and sitting in the sun.
Thanks for posting all these pics. It is really interesting to see all the different steps. I'm enjoying this thread and can't wait to see the final product. Looks like you're doing an amazing job!
