How did you take the belt moulding off the front drivers side door?

Here's my headlights I smoked i while back....
Crushed in door...means new paint job! :)-imag0252.jpg

They've got a few big rock chips in em and the clear coat around the chips started lifting a bit from wind getting under the material. sorry for the blurry pic
Crushed in door...means new paint job! :)-imag0258.jpg

So I sanded all of the material off. Starting off with 500 wet or dry sand paper, then 600 wet, 800 wet, 1000 wet, and finished off with1500 wet

sanding em down to put a nice couple glossy coats of clear on em. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE WITH CARBON FIBER PARTS!!! Everyone will tell you the carbon fiber parts you buy from them has a "UV protectant" gel coat on em to protect from the sun...it doesnt protect after a few months. At least in AZ it doesnt haha.

Gorgeous! I'd luv to add a personal touch to my vehicle like this! Body shops just don't put any TLC into their work like this...all about quick turnaround and insurance claims. Keep up the good work!

After you wet sanded the headlights, what did you use to restore clarity? They look brand new. Do you still have any residual fine scratches?

Really cool, did you just sand and then directly clear the headlights?
