Well if the other guys insurance calls it a total loss, your insurance company should just let them pay you to replace your car. But if your insurance declares it a total loss, the other companies insurance does have a right to inspect the vehicle and evaluate damages. If there's a disagreement, the two insurance companies will come to a settlement. I doubt they would try and repair your car though if your insurance deemed it a total loss.

Thanks for being one of the many reasons car insurance is so high these days.

Just got a call from the Nationwide Insurance's adjuster. He said the damages were $12,500 (plus 2,000-5,000 supplemental they are expecting). IT WILL BE A TOTAL LOSS...
He said he will forward my information to the TOTAL LOSS DEPT. and that they will be reaching out to me shortly...

He stated my car was in excellent condition and that it was in "Dealer condition"
I looked on NADA... states my car is worth $19,825 Clean Trade-In and $23,900 Clean Retail. WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT TO GET???
