I have to see the 3IS. If they look nice, I may upgrade. Otherwise, 2011/2012 ISF, or may be a Genesis Sedan. And, I would definitely stay away from German cars. Have experienced enough horror!

Dont really like any other Lexus plus too pricey...Guess the IS is getting a bit small esp when there are people in back seat way too squishy...I have been hearing a lot about Genesis Sedan...?!?!?!

Of course that was VW part. I owned recent 2001 and up Audis and VW and I will stay away from them from now on. BMW on the other hand are pretty reliable cars. I have my 2001 M3 that I owned for over 6 years and had zero major issues with it. The car now has over 130k miles on it and runs like new. It needed bushings and components that wear (battery, bushings, tires, belts) replaced but that's expected.

So as far as my next car, it will most likely be newer 3series with AWD and the new 260 hp turbo 4 that gets awesome gas milage and is pretty fast.

Statistically speaking, German cars suck for reliability.... just because you got one good one doesn't change that.

For example-

http://autos.jdpower.com/content/pre...lity-study.htm

Lexus has been at the top of this survey for most of its existence (and just about all of the last 10-12 years)

Notice BMW down there well below average?

Other than Porsche (which is also routinely in the top 5) the only other above average German entry is mercedes benz, which seems to have improved since getting rid of Chrysler... (indeed their first appearance above average was the first year cars post-dumping-Chrysler would appear in the survey)

That's apart from how insanely overpriced german cars are... this has been covered a few times, like how the BMW 328i, similarly optioned, was thousands more than an IS350 despite being embarrassingly slower and with a much plainer interior....

I am actually considering replacing it as we speak with 2012 335i but may hold off to see what 3IS has to offer

I would for sure like something bigger than the IS, but with the amount of miles I drive a year (nearly 20,000) I have a hard time paying much more for a car or stepping into something that might not be as reliable.

The only reason why I'm looking at the Genesis sedan. I drive the same range as you....so their cost +100000 warranty makes it a consideration

The ATS would be my best best, IMHO. The 2.0 AWD would be quite the car. The Volvo S60 t6 also caught my eye.

I love my IS, but if I were in the market right now, I think I'd be looking at either a V8 Genesis sedan, a Mustang GT, or a Corvette Grand Sport Coupe... depending on my mood.

I kind of want the GT (or maybe Boss 302) or the Vette right now, actually, to be a stablemate for Xandra. But I just can't justify paying for a second, expensive, brand new car as a single driver. I'd feel like such a wasteful douche, heh.

The BMW 3 series (either 328i or 335i) with their new F30 engines are tempting.... even the 328i, which I would not even consider with the previous models due to lack of power is greatly improved. Also their interior is redesigned, which is much more appealing. Except I am unsure of the chance in the hood design, it might grow on me.

Couple of options did me:

370z
G37 when new model comes out if I like it
Keep Lexus as beater and get a classic toy car for nice days
Infiniti fx35/50 + toy car

Probably not another Lexus - not sporty enough for me IMO. Great as a daily driver commuter though
