I think it's ridiculous how many AWD vehicles I see in Seattle. Like our weather at all justifies it?!? Most IS's I see are AWD. It's sad. And sooo many Subaru drivers, the passive-aggressive kind, that drive 60 in the fast lane, and refuse to get over. Grrr!!! Sorry, off topic...

Heck, I don't even have a set of winter tires and I get along fine 99% of the time. I missed two days of work each of the last two years because of snow. I can't justify spending ~ $1000 for winter tires when I get around fine 363 out of 365 days (364 out of 366 this year!!)

For me, I drive long (ie, Vancouver to Seattle and vice versa), and so I definately want the proper tires. I'm still on winter right now because it was not warm enough to consider swtiching to summers with the whacky weather going on in Seattle the last few days.
Yeah, the Lexus dealers are trying to push AWD lol!!
Funny is that the news fails to mention the amount of accidents related to not using the proper tires in the snow. My co-worker knows that less than 10% use proper tires around the WA area. This differs significantly for drivers in Canada as most do get the proper tires.

It sure seems that way!
Once they came out with the 2011 IS350 AWD, a brand-new IS350 RWD was no longer available around here. The dealership had to order a RWD IS350 for me.
When it snows around here, I myself avoid driving if possible.
