Im still trying to find out how I check to see if the battery in my car is OE to the car. I've got a '06 350 and have had zero starting issues. I assume it's the original battery, but I don't know how to check to see if it is or not. Grrrr!

your suppose to ad Di water to it every so often..keep in mind the battery they give u under warranty is a lexus battery not the oem one.

change it with a Die hard Plat. battery from sears. I had a yellow top and those fail sometimes. Read the reviews on both of them and i think the die hard plat is better for prices and comes with a warranty.

Right, I know I've got an OEM Lexus/Toyota battery...but how can I tell if it's original to the car (late '05)?

Ive only heard good things about Optima batteries. I dont have one.
My OEM battery was showings signs of failure at around 58K miles. It has since been replaced with another Panasonic OEM battery, but not by the dealership.

Log into lexus.com in the owners section and check the service history.

If it was replaced with another lexus battery the service would be listed there.

I have a 1st-gen 2005 IS300 (bought new in late 2004) and the OEM Panasonic battery died over the weekend while it was parked in my garage. Triple A replaced the battery with their in-house branded Interstate (IIRC,Johnson Controls owns Interstate) model for about $120.

The Triple A mechanic was extremely impressed that the Lexus/Panasonic Battery lasted for seven years and stated that most car batteries should be replaced every 3-4 years depending on use/climate conditions. The mechanic added that it's more about the age of the car battery and if the car is equipped with other aftermarket audio/video/amp attachments that determine battery life rather than the mileage. He concluded by stating that based on his experience, the Lexus OEM batteries seemed to last the longest followed closely by BMW (Bosch?) batteries.

Been there, done that...no record. But it could have been purchased and installed off-site.

What is the month warranty on these things anyways...80-month?
