Completely new to ClubLexus. Forgive if making any mistakes.

Got a used 2008 IS250 car 2 weeks ago. Its out of warranty from december ( 2 months).

just realized I am getting too much noise from engine area.

checked Oil & it is in proper level.

I added a youtube video to get suggestion from Club Lexus members.

Please advise what is this sound and what to do next.

 

good thing you have warranty. sounds like the high pressure fuel pump that is cam drivin. Thats all i am able to point out since it looks like it coming from passenger rear of motor.

 

maybe covered by drivetrain warranty. Hope it is not a big issue.

very high reving engine. Since it has warranty just take it to Lexus.

 

If you are referring to the clicking sound, that is completely normal. It's the fuel injectors.

 

Definitely sounds like something's wrong - doesn't sound like the normal clicking noise from our engines. Whatever it is (unless it's somehow owner-caused) should be covered by your powertrain warranty, which runs until 70k miles. So if you have less than 70k miles, just take it into a dealer, grab a loaner car and let them figure it out.

 

it has 29k miles. I will check with dealer this weekend and post back.

My friend's car has similar noise problem on the top left side (passenger side) of the engine. But it only start making that clicking sound after the car has ben driven for 5 minutes or the engine has warmed up. I be interest to know what is the real cause and if there is a fix to this issue. Thanks!

 

My car is now making this exact sound.

Senthil or anyone else, can you please let me know what the dealer said was the cause of this sound/noise?

I am currently in a country with no Lexus dealerships so im trying to get this solved with the use of regular mechanics.

Recently check engine light came on & off.
Took it to Lexus dealer and currently sitting there for engine work under warranty.
car behavior:
high revving sound in low speeds.
minute pickup loss
More noise from engine comparing loaner.
