Default How difficult is it to color match the Hypersliver 18 in F-Sport Wheel?

Local wheel repair guy says it's pretty impossible. Anyone try to match this color before?

I'm pretty sure most shop can get it close too if there know there stuff. If you take it to the wrong shop that doesn't care then no it won't. It just depends were you go.

Is there a touchup paint for this color?

I've got the rims pictured in the OP and have very slight road rash on one of the wheels, touchpaint would make it perfect again!

Pretty sure that's not hypersilver. The Fsport wheel is a gunmetal of some sort.

Maybe the wheel guy wants to powder coat it, that would be difficult to match. If he was to paint it, then all he needs is the color code. Any paint supply can mix the paint.

It's not called hypersilver....forgot the actual Lexus name for it.

I think it's called "liquid graphite" ... it's the same color as my stock '08 18" wheels.

Lexus calls it "Smoked Graphite".

He stripped the original paint (or so he claimed) and "powder coated" it. He was calling it the "hyper silver." But result looked way too dark and he agreed, gave my money back ($175). I really don't want to shell out $445 for a new one at Sewell but I'm pretty darn **** about my car . Hmmm...what to do?

Not impossible to match but it is very difficult to have a 100% match.

Pretty much, if you want 100%, might as well get a new wheel because there is no way wheel shops can get it perfect regardless of how they do it since they don't have Lexus equipment.

I bought touch up paint for my wheels from Sewell match is near-perfect. If you can't find it let me know and I will try and find my invoice - I think I have it.
