Why are you all so **** about a "search"? It was just a simple question....but thanks anyway.
Because it avoids 50 different threads cluttering up the forum all asking the same thing that's already been answered 200 times, thus allowing NEW questions and other posts to be easily seen.

But there are "50 different threads" with pics of the same cars over and over again...just different titles everyday it seems....smh

so let me get this straight...
you notice the "50 different threads" with pics of the same cars, but you didn't see the FAQ that was sitting on top of those "50 different threads"...

Well maybe this isn't the forum for me. Most of the time I am accessing this site on my phone and I don't have time to "search" or look through numerous FAQs to look for a simple answer. Sorry I even asked.

Please realize how unworkable and unhelpful Club Lexus would become if everyone simply created a new thread every time they had any question at all, even extremely simple ones answered many times before. The clutter would completely ruin the extremely helpful and informative nature of Club Lexus very quickly.
So the "please search" message, while sometimes not delivered terribly diplomatically or nicely, is an important one and keeps the forums clear of clutter and direct and to the point. Reducing clutter means that if you search "how to reset oil light" or "how to replace air filter" you get one or two threads with all your answers, instead of 30 pages of new threads from people asking the same question.
Like I said, sometimes this message doesn't come across very nicely. But in this case, projectdna included a direct link that answers exactly the question you were looking for. So he took the time to find the link (and for future, there's actually only one FAQ and it's designed to be a one-stop shop) and provide it to you.
There is a lot of good info on Clublexus already, if you start using the search feature you'll find out that a lot of the time you can find your answer that way. It only helps you, since you just search and find your answer....no need to post a thread and wait for replies most of the time. It's nice being able to get answers quicker
