And I was upset at the door ding valet put in my 350 the first week I had it. That bumper looks like it can just be primed and repainted, hopefully for less than the $700. Good luck.

I would normally agree with this, but Park Place Bodywerks here in Dallas did an absolutely terrible job repairing and repainting my rear bumper. Runs in the clear coat, pock marks, and over spray on my tails.

Make sure you are doing your research and are getting some feedback regarding the quality of the work, even if it is a Lexus body shop.

It's one reason why if someone one wanted perfection. Get the Lexus Japan's factory painted bumper; therefore don't have to worry about imperfections. It will cost more but then you don't have to worry about having a shop trying to match the paint since it's already painted from the factory.

Take it to a reputable shop, I'm not sure how is its with matador red mica, but the cinnabar red on my old GS was a real pain to match. In fact, I never got it to match (I'm guessing the shops used cheap paint?) Good luck.

None of the shops will be able to get a perfect match, even the most reputable ones. Main reason is that they are creating formula which looks like Lexus's paint but they don't have the formula which Lexus uses.

Also consider this: the factory painted pieces are painted by robot. Autobody shops are done by hand.

The way the new car is painted is that they have a container which contains the exact amount to paint the car which is done by robot.
