Default Stitchings on F-Sport seat

I am noticing the stitching on the driver side seat that is close to the door is deteriorating. It's because of the constant rubbing of my left lower back and that area of the seat. The opposite side looks OK. The threads of the stitching are beginning to get all "fluffy." I think I've seen one other person having the same problem here before and he posted a picture. This probably isn't a warranty item, is it?

I have the 2011 IS350 F-Sport and have the exact same problem as you. Another forum member Superbrino was the one who made a thread about it and posted photos. I posted photos of mine in her thread and it's not nearly as bad as hers; my problem sounds like yours.

She fought the dealership and I think Lexus Customer Satisfaction enough to get them to the dealership to hire someone to restitch the seats under warranty.

I complained to my dealership and LCS as well but they continued to say mine was not warrantable because it was "not bad enough". The service representative I had did say there were other cars in the lot with the same fuzzy stitching but according to him, it is not considered warrantable until the stitches separate. LCS took his side. I think Superbrino's seats were so bad the stitching did become separated.

Hopefully you might have better luck than me in getting them to redo it (I'm even having trouble getting the dealership to do the headlights TSB on my car). I can live with it for now but I wonder what it'll look like in the future.

Is this problem specific to F-Sport seats? Or does this happen for other non-F-Sport seats as well? I've had other cars for longer than I've had my IS350 and I'm really surprised to see this happen this early

That's just not right. I automatically assumed that my dealer will replace the defective HID clusters for free but I guess I'll have to call to find out. For some reason I had an impression all Lexus dealerships won't give you a hard time on this issue with TSB out

its not from the rubbing of your back. its the seat belt thats rubbing against the stitching

I'm surprised too. I wouldn't expect stitching to fuzz out even in a IS or any car. A family friend has a daily-driven 1998 GS300 with a ton of miles and I looked at his driver's seat stitching and it's perfect. I think even some old cars from the early '90s my family had never had this problem.

Here is what Superbrino's seats looked like before it was fixed:

I put my photos on page 7. Mine still aren't nearly as bad as hers but I am concerned.

Yeah, depends on the dealership. I finally got a different service advisor who says he'll order the new headlights for me but they still insist on inspecting again even though they already noted I had bubbling from a previous oil change visit.

I believe this is not applicable to the Canada version of the car because their F-Sport uses F-Sport Leather Perforated Seats.

I have a custom one off f-sport **** with white stitching & perforated leather... I used it everyday (till I sold the car) and never had any discoloration nor feathering.
So in my opinion the seats stitching should not be doing this

Just posted this in the other thread, but is applicable here too.

This issue seems to only affect F-Sport models, my non F-Sport 2011 with 5400mi is holding up really well, even where the leather is starting to wear:

Here is another of the upper bolster, you can see it is immaculate:

I haven't noticed any issues on my 2011 cloth seats either. It seems that it is an issue with the type of material they used for the blue stitching only.
