i noticed that I have black lines in the center of my rear view mirror all the way across from the left to right and some even look like boxes. anyone else have this problem? what could it be?

i think i will bring it up the next time i go in and just see what they say. i just got the car back after 2 weeks at the dealership for pistons and rings so i am in no hurry.

 

Known issue. It's the autodimming feature and it's been cooked in the florida sun.
Judging by your car being an 07... I see why now. Mine is an 06 and I had the same issue.

Just do what I do and drive around with no rearview mirror and use your nav screen as the rearview mirror

I have the lines too, but i'm not for removing the rearview mirror.. i just live with it.

maybe purchase a new mirror down the road, who knows..

 

don't have the navi but extended warranty from lexus should cover this i would think. is it also not working anymore then?

 

Had it too. Mirror worked fine but ugly to look at.

Luckily for me, i got my car CPO. They are replacing the mirror for me next week under warranty

 

yes mine looks exactly like that!

 

If you have a warranty, it might cover it. CPO warranty is covering it for me.

I hear the new mirror alone is like $900

750+ to replace for auto-dimming mirrors and chances are... They will come back.

 

im going to look at mine in a few to see lol

 

I'll update this thread with the invoice from my dealer once I have it replaced in about a week or so!
