I think at that angle you will not see far enough ahead of you so it's better that it's mounted high.

Uh, and what happens when your SD card reaches max capacity?
Exactly, I don't recommend a contour for an in car cam. It can't record over what it previously recorded.

I like the wider angle lens of the ITB.

P.S. Sorry, I accidentally clicked "edit" on your post instead of "quote". I didn't change anything though. Just wasn't paying attention when I was replying, lulz.
You're welcome and no worries
I agree the wider lens is nice.

I just had to bump this up! =o

Could I use the BlackVue or any other specific camera models to actually record if im not there, cause by reading most of these posts its main concern is when the vehicle is moving. I live in San Francisco and cars are bunched up everywhere... I notice some bumper to bumper going on and i would like to use a dash cam to catch the car that hit my front bumper even when the car is off and no one is in the car at all. Is that possible or is that only for when the car is on so it has power? How would i hide the wire? I'm not electrician and i don't know anything aiyah! =((

i just got my blackvue dr400g and love it. i have it hardwire into my car with a constant power supply so it is always on, and the parking mode is fully functional.

Here is my setup:

I bought the camera off eBay. Don't know the brand. It was about $50. I have it wired to a switch so that I can leave it on at all times or turn it off. I've had it for about 2 months now and it's great. The little LCD allows me to review video on it right away or I can take out the microSD card or I can plug the camera into a computer. It's a bit big but it has yet to get in the way of my view.

I found another camera on ebay: Papago P1
It looks very promising and a good alternative to blackvue dr400g for those of us who don't want to spend $400.

If your state is not recording-friendly you could be charged with a wiretapping felony or something or other (in order to intimidate you).

i used the cable that came with the camera. I ran the wire to my center console and tap into a constant power cable from radio/climate control harness.
