Default Driving in mountains

Question from a newbie :

I was driving in mountains (Bear Mountains Park in NY) and my new IS250 AWD 2012 was running slowly, I couldnt drive more than 40-60mph, auto or switch mode. It was driving crazy, but on a high way it was good. I was thinking my gas I used before I left for a trip had some illegal adds and driving experience was nasty.

Should I be concern or there is something I need to change while I drive in a mountains?

Higher elevation = thinner air = less performance.

Maybe it had something to do with the altitude

Have to agree too.

Maybe if you had RWD it would not have much of an impact because AWD. The engine has to work harder with the extra weight and and AWD drivetrain that it took more of hit with less air. Could get the F-Sport High Air Flow filter, but it is not really going to make a difference.

Yah, buy a 350

I used to have the same problem in my Accord back in the day... altitude is starving the engine, not much you can do.
