Default Replacing damaged rim

I hit a small Grand Canyon on the freeway. Severely dented the front rim. Performance Tires said they didn't think they could reshape it for more reasons than I'll go into here. They're the 18" Alloy wheels. Found one on eBay but they say it's not compatible with my 2006 IS250. Have no idea why not. Called a dealer parts dept and they said it would depend on whether it was a Type A, B, etc.
Does the type depend on the tire size which on mine is a 225/40/R18? I just saw in my owners manual that that corresponds to a Type E which then says the wheel size is 18 x 8J, whatever that means. Am I on the right track? And where might I find a good replacement for that rim?

Thanks much

Is it one of the wheels listed at the bottom? http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...S250-2006.html

There's two types because the wheels are staggered i.e. smaller in the front larger in the rear

The ABC is referring to the wheel face type.

If you show us a picture, we will easily know which type it belongs to.
