Default HID Bulb with original HID Headlights?

I've searched the forums and nothing seems to come up. I have an '08 StarFirePearl IS250 and i was wondering if you could just buy the bulbs (low beams) from xenon and put them in the original headlights. Will it work? or do you need to get the conversion kit. Even though i already have the stock HIDs

you can just purchase D4S bulbs(low beam) if you already have HID on your vehicle.

Just buy any D4S bulbs and it will work with the factory ballast.

Philips Ultinon 6000k highly recommended but Garax/Xtreme from KBcarstuff works as well!

For best light output for the temperature, then it is Philips Ultinon which is highly recommended. It does cost more since because they are made in limited quantities. Since they are reliable and can see much better down the road with these, its worth it.

I have recently replaced stock HID bulbs with GARAX 8000k bulbs on my brand new Lexus IS250 2012. I observe that 6000k is actually brighter than 8000k but I like more blue with the 8000k. I also feel that the stock 4300k HID is brightest lol.

You are correct sir, the higher the Kelvin the less light output you'll get.

Depending on what year the car is, I the current cars use Toshiba.

Yes, the output of the 4300K would be better than that compared to higher K of course. For 8000K, it's not brighter, it's output is less so you would eventually notice the disadvantages especially during the rain. It was one of the reasons why I told my Garax and went with Philips Ultinon 6000K.

Toshiba are the new OEM D4S bulbs. Lexus does not do Philips 4300k OEM anymore.
