Has anyone had this problem yet? I've google searched this issue and it's been addressed in several different threads yet nobody has seemed to respond.
I have a 2011 IS250 with only about 13000 miles on it. These days every time I put my car in reverse and hit the brakes as I back out, there seems to be a clunking from under my vehicle. I don't know if it would be the suspension or other parts.
Is anyone else having this experience and if so what was your solution to it?

Sounds like the brake pads moving in the caliper. There is a couple mm of clearance in our brake pads that allow the pads to expand when warm up. Problem is, as there is wear in the pads they will start to "click" or "clunk" when the pads/brakes are cold. I had the same issue with the rear brakes of me evo 8 and the same issue with the front brakes of my 07 IS350. The clicking did go away when I had the TSB done for new front brake pads due to excessive brake dust, but after about 5000 miles the clicking returned.
Hopefully I wont have the same issue after 5000 miles with a set of aftermarked brake pads when its time for new pads and rotors.

Doesn't the whole brake rotor rotate a little? From what I have seen, It is only sandwiched between the hub and the wheel. The lug holes through the rotor are a little larger than the lugs so there is a bit of play to rotate there. If the rotor is loose and especially when you change from forwards to reverse, the lug will slam from one side of the hole to the other side, making a clunk sound.
I guess you should take off your wheel and make sure the hat of the rotor and mating surface on the wheel are perfectly clean and smooth. See if you can turn the rotor by hand, independent of the hub, though this is normal because the wheel is not holding it in place. Sometimes the rotor is rusted to the hub, which is okay for now, but will cause trouble when you need to change it. Then put the wheel back on and torque the lugnuts down to spec 76 ft.lb.

I have a 06 is250 awd and when I start up the car it rarely makes the same noise as described above. I've experienced a heavy clunking noise and almost a feel to it, as though I were trying to drive on a flat rim. This only happens when I turn the wheel all the way to the right before actually moving out of the space any. Perhaps the tire is rubbing on something?
