Opinion on WALD paint
Hi everyone,
I have an obsidian 2IS, and am considering getting a full WALD kit for my car. However, at the same time I think the kits wouldn't show as well on a black car compared to a lighter color car. Do you guys think it's worth it? Is there a way to paint the lip kit so that it would show better on a black car without sacrificing the overall flow?
thanks so much!

I personally think if a person doesn't know too much about cars, they might just see the car as stock with the lip kit on, however if you are into cars, you would definatly notice a kit on a car, no matter what the color, for you you'll see a difference, i say go for it, keep it black, and your car will look like its sitting lower

As I've suggested before, try photoshopping the inserts on the kit a dark grey/gunmetal/silver or some other color to give the kit depth. I have done like others and painted the center of the front lip, middle sections/vents on the sides, and the rear center portion black, but my car/kit is white. So give it a whirl on the computer or be ballsy and just do it!

thanks for the input guys much appreciated.
right now i'm thinking to paint the mid sections matte black, not sure yet.
how will the kit be fitted on? is it with screws and tapes for both authentic and replica? will there be damage left on the car when the kit is taken off?
thanks again

My buddy has a black IS and has the Full Wald kit and trunk spoiler. He also painted the side inserts silver. Don't think he liked it much. Maybe it was too light for him.
Here is an Obsidian that is murdered out with Wald kit.

yep, i think front lip shows much more than side and rear.
oh that's interesting. do you know where i can get a feel of how the matte gunmetal would turn out? and should i do this all around?
wow that looks so sick, but doesn't show the sides well. i like it tho

i actually really like how you did on yours with the rear , with the part of the center portion silver and everything else black. if i want to go with your route on my obsidian, how would you do it ?
thanks ~!

I think you and I have chatted about this before, and as others have said with a black car the bodykit will stick out to people who know cars, but not to everydayers. I have the wald front, and plan on getting the skirts, I have an idea of how I want to paint them, but I'd rather not share that. It will look good, definitely go for it . However IMO I'm just not a fan of the wald rear lip, doesn't match the lines of the car, that's just my opinion though.
