Default 245 vs 235

Got some 19in Vossen CV-1s and working on choosing tires and sizes. My IS has the stock springs and will likely stay that way. Looking to fill the wheel well and give some protection to the rims. I know it isn't much difference between a 245/35/19 and a 235/35/19, but is anyone out there running a 245 on their fronts? Is the rubbing bad?

245/35-19 will rub against the fender liner on dips and turns. the aspect ratio is one size too tall. now, 235/35-19, not as much.

try 245/30-19 if you must have 245 treadwidth.

btw, all of ^^^ is dependent upon offset.

-pic snip-

that's because you're suppose to run 275/25-20 in the rear and 245/25-20 in the front. the aspect ratios on your tires are taller than what you should be running - especially to maintain the proper speedometer/odometer reading.

Is that stock suspension or are you lowered? How bad is the rub? Do you think it will just need a little heat or a lot of manipulation?

I agree offset is important. The 19x8.5 Vossens are +32. The sidewall size and larger diameter is more important to me than the width. Although I would prefer the 245 width, I would get the 235/35 long before going with the 245/30.

Yeah thats for sure. Im running 225/30/20 on the front and its a decent stretch. Im also lowered on H&Rs and rubbed only when full lock turning with spacers. Fenders rolled and heated liners.

To the OP: I would go with 235/35, I wouldnt even call it a stretch because of the bigger sidewall.

I run 235/35 on front with 19" vossens. I'm lowered on coils though. Not slammed, but i still rub when turning. Need to mod the liner.
