What an unfortunate event. You were lucky because he could have hit you in the driver side which could have gone worse.

Good luck and hopefully you'll bounce back with a new car

Wooooooow glad you are ok. Life is short and that car can be replaced ... I have no feelings for drunk drivers. Take um to the cleaners. I know people make mistakes but you shouldn't make the ones that cost folks there life. You came ultra close. Kiss your girl and hug your kids if you got some

Sorry to hear about all this... this is quite a shame... as everyone else has said though, the important thing is you're OK - plus you can strip any aftermarket parts on the front and interior of the car that you had and use them on a replacement vehicle... tough call if they will total the car or not, it's quite a bit of damage, but it's also a nicer/pricier car.. You have a case to file a claim and spend some time in court...

Good luck man.

Yes, lawyer up! You deserve more than just enough money to replace the car. Bad thing is that since they were driving an older SUV with no insurance, they probably have nothing you can sue for; perhaps future wages though?

Good thing you're OK. Do you have under-insured insurance? I have a low amount on my car, maybe I should up that.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments, I'm glad I could walk away from that without being seriously injured. As for the car I'm super bummed. Hopefully I can afford to get something comparable.
