Dont worry about the rub on hard turn that nothing. I running the 225-45-18 on my stock 18s no issues with a drop.

It is most likely going to be dependent on tires because two the same tire size from different manufactures don't have the exact same dimensional spec.
From laobo979's comment, it seems to say that he is not rubbing with the tires he is using.

its weird though because my stock 17's are much taller but didnt rub. i was a little unhappy with the wheel gap with the 225-40-18, but they explained to me where it would rub, so i said freak it, i'll just get a drop. let me know how it works out cause i was so close to getting the same size you had. this is my first awd car and didnt want to mess around
