ok what about the car sputtering on with a audio system hooked to it?
i have 1 jl10w6 and a jl 500/1 amp with a cap and when it hits and im at red lights it feels like it wants to cut the car off but i've taken the battery out and had it fully charged
Maybe it's fully charged, but fails under load. Try replacing the battery with someone else's to test.
When you say "After about 20 minutes, it seems to acquire a temperature reading and adjust accordingly", does the temperature slowly rise to the correct temp or does it spike up in a sudden move? If it slowly rises, I would say it's normal. But if it jumps up, then I would have them take a look at it.
It actually starts above the C. It stays above the C for about 3-4 minutes and then slowly starts to creep toward the middle.
Initially thought, on every start up, it went straight to the middle.... weird...
