[Urgent] Please help! ***Damaged frount sub-frame***
#17
As an absolute worst case, you should be able to claim it under collision insurance. In all technicality, you "could" have avoided it by stopping or not taking that road so it's not covered under comprehensive. Keep in mind if you do claim it, it's considered an "at-fault" collision and you could potentially have increased points which can result in a premium increase anywhere from 7 to 14 percent. So if you pay $2500/yr now, for example, that'd be a increase of $350 at a 14% increase. Over the course of 5 years, that's $1750. You may want to do the math out prior to choosing insurance claims or out of pocket repairs.

Thanks guys, i'll keep you all posted.
I'll upload pics of the damage when I get the chance on friday.
Thats a good idea, do you know how i can get my hands on a used sub-frame? lol
It doesn't sound that easy as it'll have to be taken of a totalled car or something.
The labour is going to be intense, cause they made it sound like it was a difficult fix. 5 hours or so and they'll have to take out the engine and blah blah blah.. I'm not sure if just any garage will be able to fix it.

upload the pics! There are plenty of good subframes at the junkyard and they will not sell you one that is bent.
Being awd makes the job more time consuming. Take the car to an alignment shop first to see the alignment
