I am looking at an 06 IS350 sport with 88k on the clock. I reviewed the thread of common problems, and pulled the service history. Are there any concerns based on this service history, or does this history indicated that some of the common problems may be taken care of?

I normally buy a used car, then drive it for 5 to 7 years. Would the IS be a good car to take up to 150k miles?

The water pump would be the only thing I would question. Find out why they replaced it. Otherwise looks pretty clean. My '08 has more service crap just from me tweaking this and that w/ the dealer.

The thing you must know about 2IS models, they are notorious for bad water pumps. It was either replaced due to noise/rattling causeg by a bad bearing or the seal was bad causing it to leak coolant. Either are unfortunately "normal". But other than that, looks good. Heck, mine was replaced around 20k miles for leaking.

So what's the sales price?

Yes, the car shoud be fine to last over 150k miles if maintained properly.

Well i just called lexus corporate, turns out my car was elgible for extended free warranty until october 2010, no owner redeemed that offer and to perform the recall. I performed the recall 2 months ago, such (excuse my french) *****!

OP, that all looks pretty good. The previous owner had most of the routine service done at the dealer including the 60k mile tune-up which should have included new spark plugs. Assuming that last post means they replaced the water pump, that's actually a good sign. As was mentioned, the water pumps going bad are somewhat common. If the price is right, I'd jump on it. 150k miles should be no big deal with these cars.
