My wife did her emblems and grill and it came out awesome! It is a great product when you dont want to use paint in case you want to trade in the car or other reasons down the road. Especially because it will come right off!

wow! I just saw the other thread with the link to the emblems plastidipped. AWESOME! I have been all for debadging everything, but now I kinda wish I hadn't debadged all my cars. Maybe some plastidip was all I needed!

Yeah I recommend taking the grill completely out and remove the weather strip, in that way you will have the cleanest job. I dont mind plastidipping yours too.

I have used black plasti dip on the chrome part on the grill of my Lexus to contrast the already black car and it turned out baller as hell.

Just make sure you go to officiallydipped.com for the cheapest plasti dip

This is my Memorial Day Special Pic

Hi Dags07and the rest of the forum members. I have a 2003 Lexus ES300.
I am working on doing the logos right now. I want to do the grill but have been hesitant because on the epic plasti dip thread ( https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-required.html ) there was some talk about the plasti dip not coming off when applied to plastic. There was also reference that our bumpers and grills being made of plastic.

I am not sure if this is true or not for my grill. I pressed it today and it did feel like it was not as hard the hood so I figure it is plastic. If that is the case can I use plasti dip on my grill? Will it end up sticking and causing me to not be able to pull it off?

Here is a thread that I started which has a pic of my car (First car- Gold ES300).
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es3...-my-es300.html

Should I attempt to plasti dip it? If so how will I do it? The grill comes up with the hood. Also would I plasti dip the whole thing? or just the outside part which looks like chrome and leave the inner part which is gold?

Thank you for your help guys.

I think everything will be fine if you just spray enough. They're still together and won't break off when peeling. Like 4-5 coats at least

Plasti dip comes off dont worry. Its easier if you remove whatever part you want to spray

But would I still only plasti dip those chrome parts? Or the whole bumper which will include the chrome parts and the gold parts.

Thank you.

Hi mate love the plasti dip.im currentley goin to do mines. Due to paint not being perfect swirl maeks light scratches noticable in sun( not much sun in scotland lol). How did you find it on sto e chips.ie enough layers will cover them. Did you spray inside door sills or purely exterior. A full respray would cost a few grand and im a british soldier getting made redundant in a few months moneys tight. Theres one place bear me but wants about $900 dollars in your money (hell no) so DIY it is.
