I think you guys are missing the fact that he said he went from an 08 to an 06. That in itself regardless of tires, alignment, etc is going to be the main reason the steering feels so different. So OP before you go and spend all kinds of money on tires and alignment do some research on how lexus "recalibrated" the steering so you're not spending money to end up w/ the same results.

Coming from a 97 Accord and 370Z, my '06 IS350 feels floaty too. I should say the steering wheel feel is light. I read that they improved the steering feel in later models though.

Drive an '08 then drive your '06 and you will notice a difference.
