Default how to access evaporator drain without jacking up the car

Hi all,

I did a search but did not find a clear answer.
My question: is it possible to access the evaporator drain without jacking up the car?
kamileon88 mentioned taking off the intake manifold but I was wondering if someone could post some instructions/pics. I would like to use this on my AC:

Cheers

If you dont want to jack up the car, try to find some rhino ramps or a steep enough driveway to drive up on and crawl under. If you are lowered.. then goodluck!

I didn't want to jack up the car and access the evaporator drain from below because it seems you have to lower the transmission jack. That's why taking off the intake manifold sounded like a good idea but I haven't confirmed this. Has anyone done that before?

My wife's 06 gs300 had water in the passenger front, rear, and driver's side read floor. I found out about a rubber grommet that seemed to be causing a blockage, so i decided to take a shot at removing it per the TSB since the vehicle is no longer under warranty.

I just removed the evaporator drain grommet and I didn't need to unhook the exhaust or lower the transmission, even though the TSB says that's the procedure. I jacked up the car and bent the exhaust shield a little, and was able to reach the drain (though i couldn't see it). I though it would be a tougher, but it wasn't too bad; only a few scrapes from squeezing my forearm between the transmission and exhaust, and i had to work at pulling the grommet since i couldn't get much leverage and it was on somewhat snug. A bunch of water poured out of the drain when i was working the grommet, so i hope the problem is solved.

I think you can definitely maneuver a tube into that drain without having to lower the transmission, as i pulled out the grommet with some small needle nose pliers.

I've taken off the intake manifold before. It's simple. just be sure not to over torque the bolts when you reinstall.
