Default New Wiper Blades?

Hi Cl, I have a 2008 Lexus is250 and I've realized that my wiper blades are getting old and leaving streaks when i use them, so i figured that i'll probably need new ones. Can anyone recommend me some? I've heard about rain-x somewhere and i believe they are available at pep boys and autozone, but i'm not sure if they are any good. So i'm turning to experts on club lexus. Thanks for all your help!

Simply buying OEM is good enough. Can get them for cheap at Sewell.

Ideally, they would be replaced twice a year. Once in spring, the other in fall after the extreme conditions (ie. winter and summer) have passed.

No need for the rain-x wipers. OEM wipers have worked wonders for me. Like Sango has already said, you should check out Sewell with the CL discount.

Twice a year? Isn't that overkill? I only changed them once and I've had the car for 4 yrs.

Agreed, maybe change them when they're worn out?

Not to thread jack, but in case OP doesn't have the OEM wipers to hold the oem fills, what options does he have?

"auto parts way" (one word) canada usually carries OEM parts or choice of aftermarket for good prices. Fast shipping too.

No, but this way it would be optimal. You can change them when they wear out but you know, they do have a limited life span against the elements so this way you don't have to worry about them if you just do them anyways.

Dealership replaced mine during my last scheduled service. At least that's what the invoice showed.

The inserts are cheap anyways. And I have been quite happy with them in rainy Vancouver. And there was nothing wrong with the original set they replaced which was 2.5 yrs old, i.e. no streaks, not hardened, etc.

I have the same model year car and just had my inserts changed. You don't need to replace the whole wiper, just the inserts and they will work like new. The inserts were only 15 bucks at a local Lexus dealership. I picked them up from the dealership and they had a tech install them for me free of charge (so I'm guessing its rather simple to do) he did it while I stood there.
