Could it be that there was a defect with the manufactuering of the wheel? If you had it roadforce balanced 3 times i would start checking the lug nuts and the wheels. That really sucks though /:

Is it possible the locking lug on my mcgards is throwing off the balance? It seems strange the wheels would balance perfectly but be off balance when on the car...

^^
If that's the case, then you can do On-The-Car wheel balancing

Did you road force balance the wheels? It's possible it's balanced well only up to 80mph...In my case I vibrate pretty much at every speed but it's barely noticeable under 42-45mph. Once I hit the 45mph mark, my whole car starts shaking and it gets very bad when you let off the gas.

I'm thinking it's possible there's a bad patch of wheels and/or tires. If this doesn't work, then I suppose it's possible I have a bad drive shaft or cv joint. I did, however, inspect my boots and they're not leaking or anything..

Right now my vibrations have nothing to with the hub rings. The provided hub rings are fine. I bought another set of hub rings just to be sure and it didn't change anything.

My car was wobbling and it had vibrations. Ive tried everything you have try. (rings, balance, alignements...) but finally the tires were the problem. Tire shop exchange them for free

Yeah I called my tire seller and they suggested I bring them to an authorized dealer to make a warranty claim. So I'm doing that first thing tomorrow morning. Hopefully that'll fix it when the new tires arrive.

I have the new GS 350F and found this thread. i too am having this issue with brand new Vossen wheels and Michelin Pilot Super Sports. First shop put in plastic hub rings too big. Next shop Road Forced the tires and re balanced. Still vibrates around 60. Changed the Hub Rings to better fitting plastic ones. It got a bit better but still vibration. They said one tire was defective on a second RF. I sent it back and got a new one. New tire was put on and still the vibration around 60.

Next stop is the metal hub rings. It has to be something! I think we can rule out tires or wheels though. However, I am not sure how the lug nuts would cause any issue. Can someone explain?

You didnt specify if your newest hub rings are metal. Are they metal or plastic? Thanks!

I have both metal and plastic hub rings. In fact I bought a total of 4 sets just to try this out.

BUT I found a solution. The wheels are defective and we found all 4 are out of round.

I brought it over to a local shop who had a high speed balancer and we put it on, spun the wheel and found all four wheels are hopping on the balancer. We tried again to rebalance (5th balancing now) them and it still hops. Wheeldude's been great and is replacing all four of them for me. Hopefully the next wheels don't hop anymore.

Quick Reply: new wheels. vibration :(
